Description
5'7". Octavo -- Gayle Conner -- is a pretty woman, age 26, who appears to be in her early twenties due to good genetics. Her hair is light brown and usually a little longer than shoulder-length, and her eyes are blue-grey. She wears makeup if she's planning on leaving the house at all, though it's usually very light. The clothes that she wears to work are dainty, and designed to give her an overly feminine air, favoring light shades in color along with shoes that have heels. Around the house, she wears jeans, tank-tops and stompy steel-toed boots. To clubs, she wears gothic and elegant outfits with leather and vinyl. Sunglasses are a constant for her, as she lives in the desert, and she wears the expensive models. For those who know what one sounds like, she has a Californian accent (for those who don't, it's just American).
Home - Map
She owns a two-story home in the very nice part of town. Everything about it pretty much screams "remodeled" (it was, right before she moved in). The outside is flawlessly landscaped with succulents, given the area, with a large backyard that's mostly gravel -- and, on cooler days, filled with excited dogs. It's painted a light green color, with slightly darker highlights, equipped with double-paned windows that are wide but have blinds on the inside. The front door is wooden, thick, and might as well be considered a double. Octavo's sleek, silver Mercedes is parked in the garage, if she's home.
Downstairs
Entrance Hall - Hardwood floors, white walls, not too much in the way of decoration. There's a framed watercolor painting of a herd of horses stampeding through the desert, just inside the door, which was painted by Octavo's father, who was an artist. The hall becomes the main hallway of the house, with the door to the garage - which is pretty much empty - here.
Office - Accessible from the hallway. Desk, a few chairs, a nice desktop computer where Octavo does what work she has to bring home. It's also got all of her computer games on it, of course. The room, like the entrance hall, is understated in terms of decoration.
Linen Closet #1 - Accessible from the hallway. Towels, sheets, etc.
Bathroom #1 - Pale blue and green are the important colors here. Tiled. A very nice glass-paneled shower, toilet, and a sink whose basin is in the shape of a seashell.
Kitchen/Living Room - The largest downstairs room, opening from the hallway through an arch rather than a door. The kitchen part is tiled dark grey, but the rest has hardwood flooring. It's a very modern kitchen - stove, refrigerator, wine rack, granite counters, island with a dishwasher and trash compactor. The refrigerator is kept stocked by the maid, who's paid a little extra for her trouble. The other side of the room, against the wide windows, has two long and dark couches, a flatscreen TV, and several video game consoles. The walls are painted a wine red color, and the staircase to the upper floor is just inside the archway.
Backyard Access - A small hallway through the kitchen that has a door to the backyard, and a closet where there's an upright washer and dryer. The closet is somewhat deceptive, as it appears just small enough for the appliances to anyone who doesn't go in and root around. But there's actually quite a bit of space to the side of the appliances, where is where there's a hidden door if a certain hand-sized part of the wall is pushed in.
Basement - Rather large, cement-walled, and has a number of disturbing features. Features like two person-sized cages, an "operating" style table, a chest of drawers full of knives and torture equipment, and... a very comfy deep blue armchair.
Upstairs
Hall - Open-air to the Kitchen/Living Room, over a black iron handrail. Dark red carpeting, wine red walls like the other room. Black and white photography on the walls.
Linen Closet #2 - Storage.
Bedroom #1 - Guest bedroom. Blue and grey color scheme. Chest of drawers, queen-sized bed with a comfy duvet.
Bathroom #2 - Accessible from Bedroom #1. Very yellow. Whirlpool tub.
Bedroom #2 - Octavo's bedroom. Red color scheme, overall, with black and white abstract watercolor art on the walls. King-sized bed, walk in closet.
Bathroom #3 - Accessible from Bedroom #2. Jade green color scheme. Tub and shower.
